I have had many questions on what the difference is in the newborn collections. So I thought I would go over the different types of sessions and what they look like.  If you have questions please let me know, as I am here to help!  
I offer a Simple and Sweet mini newborn collection, a Little Moments, Precious Moments, In Home Lifestyle collection, Fresh 48 and Birth.

You are probably thinking gosh what comes with each or what does a simple session look like compared to the Precious moments one, and what is a lifestyle session?  Well I am here to help answer those questions for you. 
The birth package is me in the hosiptal with you during the birth of your new baby.  I capture those first moments before, during and after birth. 
A fresh 48 is done within the first 48 hours of birth and done in the hosiptal.   

Simple and Sweet session is just that.  Simple and focus on baby-no props, less posed and we only use cream, white, grey or black.  The focus is on baby! Clean and simple! This type of session is only 30-45 minutes.

So what is a posed session you ask?  The posed is a popular session. It takes longer, baby is posed and we use props.  We plan a custom session, so you get to use all the colors you want and props.  Well we pick a few colors per session and up to 3-4 props depending on if you are doing the middle or deluxe package.  With the deluxe the sibling/family images are include.  The middle package you can add sibling/family for extra fee.  The deluxe is the most popular package.  
In a posed session we do many different poses:  I start on my table and do about 6-9 poses, then we do 2-4 props and at the end we do sibling/family if you are doing the deluxe or adding it to the middle package.  You can bring special props with you as well.  
​Here is what a posed session looks like.

Lifestyle sessions are done in your home and are less posed as well.  They are very relaxed and focus on you and your new baby. It is kind of like a day in the life of You and your family!  WE can use your nursey, your bedroom and livingroom. Don't worry about your house being perfect or really clean-the photos will not show that!

When you include something special or a special location that means something to you and your family, the photos are even more special!  Remi and his mom wanted to include a piece of their land that has been in the family for many years.  This amazing tree that Remi's great great great grandfather planted.  How cool is that... We also include some of his hobbies, and went to the spot his parents got married too! I can't wait for his 2nd session!

Oh what a pretty young lady Hayley is!  We had so much fun running around downtown finding new little spots for photos!  Hayley was very shy at first but came right out of her shell and had a great time! I really love her hair-the color the style!  So perfect!

 Oh this sweet, sassy little beauty is a senior... I can't believe it.  I remember her when she was in diapers!  Your babies sure grow way to fast!  This pretty young lady is graduating a year early.  Way to go girl!  You are a rock star!  Thanks sweet lady for running around downtown catching little toads, and dealing with my craziness.  I wish the best and brightest future!  

Oh Baby!  I sure do love newborn sessions.  Newborns and high school seniors are my favorite to photograph.  They are both just speak to my heart and I enjoy them the best!  It blows my mind at how fast our babies grow!  One minute you are snuggling them, teaching them to walk, talk, and then the next they are running and all grown.  All those little moments are what is so special and important.  It is my job to capture some of those special moments in your babies life!  
Each session is different as each baby and senior is different!  Plus each family wants something different!  I love it!  I know there are so many photographers out there now and it is such an honor when someone picks me!  <3  
 
I get asked a lot when is the best time to photograph your newborn. Well before baby is 16 days old.  It can be done with them a little older but the sooner the better.  I offer so many different options as well.  I have mini sessions, lifestyle in home sessions, posed/prop sessions.  If you are ever unsure of what type of session you want Please ask I am here to help!

I wanted to share a few newborns I have had in the studio in the last couple weeks.  Your beautiful new babies will not be this small long!  Let me help capture these moments for you!  

Cake Smash sessions can be loads of fun, a big mess, lots of laughs and sometimes tears.  Not every baby loves the cake smash photo session.  It can be a hit and miss.  Some love it and some not so much!  Each baby is different and my job is to roll with it!  This little cuties first go around she was just not having it.  So we planned for her to come back.  She loves to crawl and move.  She doesn't like to sit at all.  So when we went to sit her down she would cry or throw herself down so she could crawl away.  So we rolled with it.  We cut the cake and let her lay on her belly to eat her cake.  That made her happy!  So glad we were able to get some super cute images of her one year smash cake.  
It is always a blast to watch your babies grow through the years.  It is an honor to be able to capture these moments for my clients!  Thank you for trusting in me!

We were worried as the whole day was so windy, and once we got to the location the wind stopped and it was so perfect!  Now that the weather is warming up and we have gotten some rain, everything is finally starting to green up!  I know I am ready for the warm longer days!




​One question I get asked a lot is-where is a good location for your session?  Well for me it really depends on many things.  What kinds of trees do you like? Do you like open sky's and fields?  Do you like water? Do you like taller grass?  What type of clothes will you be wearing? So many things to think about!  That is why each session is custom and we talk it all out to decide what location will work best for you!  <3  

Senior photos are so different from when I graduated.  They are more custom and more about you and what makes you-You!  Some seniors know what they want and some don't.  That is why hiring a professional is the best way to go.  They will help guide you and help bring your vision to life!
You worked so hard to get through high school and you deserve to shine!  Show who you are at this special moment in your life.  You and your family will love to look back in time and remember those moments!  Are you into sports?  Are you into art?  Do you love music?  Do you have pets or hobbies that you love and want to include?  So many fun things can be included into your session to help capture who you are at this moment in time!
So when is the best time to do your photos...
The summer before  your senior year starts.  Why?  Well if you are in sports or other after school activities it is going to be harder for you to get in to do your photos.  You will be busy with homework, sports, work, ect... Plus the weather is nice.  Don't get me wrong, fall is a great time as well.  But it doesn't last long, it gets darker earlier in the fall and you are in school.  So chances of missing an afternoon of school/sports may not be best.  So I always say Summer and early fall! 
I know some of you are like but I love snow photos and want snow.  Which yes that can be done but trust me you will not want all your photos done in the snow.  It is cold, which makes your nose, face and hands red, it is limiting, and hard to see if there is snow on the ground and the sun is shining.  It can make for a tough session.  Plus most schools want your photo into the school by November or Early December for yearbook.  Plus there are times we don't get a good snow until late December or January.  Most photographers are not open during the Holiday's and some take January off.  My best advice is do a session where you can split your session into 2 sessions.  That way if you want a fall or winter session you can do that, but still get some during the summer.  Also another thing to think about is location.  Are we traveling somewhere special for your session?  Some locations look best in summer and some are better in the fall.  Some places are farther away and need more time to travel too!  Really there is a lot that goes into your senior session to make it the best!

This little guy loved my little white chair but didn't really like his cake!  Those blue eyes and that smile!  What a little cutie.  He was walking when he came in!  Some kids walk by one and some do not.  It sure can make things tricky and hard in a session once the littles are on the move.  They want to go go go!  :)
