Isn't she Stunning! Oh this session was so perfect. The weather, the light and my clients <3
We were worried as the whole day was so windy, and once we got to the location the wind stopped and it was so perfect! Now that the weather is warming up and we have gotten some rain, everything is finally starting to green up! I know I am ready for the warm longer days! One question I get asked a lot is-where is a good location for your session? Well for me it really depends on many things. What kinds of trees do you like? Do you like open sky's and fields? Do you like water? Do you like taller grass? What type of clothes will you be wearing? So many things to think about! That is why each session is custom and we talk it all out to decide what location will work best for you! <3

Senior photos are so different from when I graduated. They are more custom and more about you and what makes you-You! Some seniors know what they want and some don't. That is why hiring a professional is the best way to go. They will help guide you and help bring your vision to life!
You worked so hard to get through high school and you deserve to shine! Show who you are at this special moment in your life. You and your family will love to look back in time and remember those moments! Are you into sports? Are you into art? Do you love music? Do you have pets or hobbies that you love and want to include? So many fun things can be included into your session to help capture who you are at this moment in time! So when is the best time to do your photos... The summer before your senior year starts. Why? Well if you are in sports or other after school activities it is going to be harder for you to get in to do your photos. You will be busy with homework, sports, work, ect... Plus the weather is nice. Don't get me wrong, fall is a great time as well. But it doesn't last long, it gets darker earlier in the fall and you are in school. So chances of missing an afternoon of school/sports may not be best. So I always say Summer and early fall! I know some of you are like but I love snow photos and want snow. Which yes that can be done but trust me you will not want all your photos done in the snow. It is cold, which makes your nose, face and hands red, it is limiting, and hard to see if there is snow on the ground and the sun is shining. It can make for a tough session. Plus most schools want your photo into the school by November or Early December for yearbook. Plus there are times we don't get a good snow until late December or January. Most photographers are not open during the Holiday's and some take January off. My best advice is do a session where you can split your session into 2 sessions. That way if you want a fall or winter session you can do that, but still get some during the summer. Also another thing to think about is location. Are we traveling somewhere special for your session? Some locations look best in summer and some are better in the fall. Some places are farther away and need more time to travel too! Really there is a lot that goes into your senior session to make it the best! There are so many ways to create your vision. If you have any questions on booking your custom senior session I would love to help you! I want each session to be custom and about YOU! If you are ready to book your custom session give me a call or email me! Here are a few favorites from The Class of 2022 that I had the pleasure of working with! I love photographing high school seniors. So fun and refreshing! Each is so different! This little guy loved my little white chair but didn't really like his cake! Those blue eyes and that smile! What a little cutie. He was walking when he came in! Some kids walk by one and some do not. It sure can make things tricky and hard in a session once the littles are on the move. They want to go go go! :)
When I let my studio go and brought it back to my home I was worried and scared. I am not sure why I was worried. It has been wonderful! I don't have the extra stress of worrying about all the extra bills and I can focus more on work! I am loving the natural light in my new studio. It is such a nice change. It can be a challenge as it is always changing, if we have clouds and then no clouds.
Anyway I wanted to say Thank you to all my amazing clients for all your love and support in my little business! I wouldn't have a business without you all! <3 My studio space is pretty small and that is ok. I normally only do newborns, milestone and some family and some maternity sessions in studio. Most everything else is outside. All senior sessions are done outside and most family sessions are done outside. I am loving this change so much. It feels like a big weight has been lifted. I wanted to share the first few sessions I have had in my new space! <3 Check out all these super cute adorable babies! I sure have had a run on baby boys! Only one girl! I truly love my "job"! The people I get to meet and all these beautiful little babies-I love to watch them grow into big kids too! Hello my lovely peps. Hope all is well! I thought I would pop in and re-introduce myself!
Hello, My name is Corrie. I have been in business now for 15 years and I am blown away it has been 15 years already. Gosh time fly's by way to damn fast! You will probably see me in holly jeans and t-shirt most the time! They are the most comfy! I love my coffee, and my day always starts with a cup of coffee! I have a few favorite coffee mugs of course they have sunflowers on them! But do you think I remembered to bring one of my favorite cups to my photoshoot. Nope, lol I forgot! Any way sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. Purple is still a favorite color. But I also love all shades of green and I am really digging yellow! Love the sunshine and warmer days. Not a fan of cold or snow! I think snow is beautiful but don't like driving in it or being in it. I love to travel-wish I could do more of it-but shoot it takes lots of money to travel lol. I wish I could live in a tiny home and do lots of traveling! Maybe someday! I am a believer in God. I am a believer in learning and doing new things! I want to start to learn how to do video. I love fruit, raspberries, pears, apricots, strawberries, kiwi, mangos, pineapple, watermelon! These are some of my favs anyway! I am not a fan of being in front of the camera-I am better at being behind the camera. Let me tell you this photoshoot was super hard for me. I have never gone and had professional photos done. I have always done them myself or had my son do them. I am not a fan of being in front of the camera and I have gained so much weight in the last 3 years it is hard for me to even look at these images. I want to tear them apart. Well tear me apart. But I am learning to let it go and love myself for me! Flaws and all! Like I said I am believer in learning and this is one thing I am learning-love yourself! God created each one of us to be different and he loves us for what we are! We need to love ourselves! My favorite things to photograph are of course newborns, but I really Love photographing highs school seniors, older babies, children, families, couples, storms/clouds and landscapes. I do not like to photograph weddings! Weddings just are not my thing. I will shoot them but I do not enjoy them. I am looking forward to meeting you and capturing your memories for you to cherish for a lifetime! This "job" of mine means the world to me and getting to meet so many amazing people a long the way has been such a blessing! I have meet many people and became friends with many! Hello my lovely peps. Hope everyone is well! I wanted to share with you some new things happening over here at Sunshine Photography.
After a long hard soul search I have decided to move my studio back into my home. No more downtown studio. This was a very hard decision for me to make. As much as I love having a studio downtown, I felt it was time to make some changes. It has been a rough couple years and felt it was time. I am offer in your home newborn sessions or you can come to my in home studio. I will still be offering milestone sessions and other sessions as well! My new space is much smaller but it works! And the natural light is amazing! I am looking forward to the new changes. Since I do all my other sessions outside I felt this was just right! I do not need a ton of space to photograph babies and children lol. I am kind of changing up how I shoot and edit! I felt stuck in a rut and lost! Change is good-it helps us grow! I am looking forward to all the new things this year. I can't wait to have my first session in the new space! Here is a cell phone pic of the new space. It is not done yet. Still got to do a few more things. I may change up the seating area to a futon later. So whos ready for a session? I know I am ready! Oh this sweet little newborn baby boy was such a dream to photograph. He was so good-didn't cry no messes, slept and posed like a star! Not every baby is this easy. Some take a little more work and that is ok. They are all so different and they run the show! I truly love being able to create art and work with such a little miracle's. These sweet little miracles do not stay little long! Have your booked your newborn session yet? In a blink they will be grown!
Hello there, how are you doing? Me, well things are kind of a rollercoaster of emotions, thoughts and plans. I wanted to be real with you! I don't want to be fake and put on a front!
I have been doing a lot of thinking over the last few weeks. My mind and heart have not been in a good place if I am being honest. So with that I have had to do some deep soul searching and thinking of what I want to do and what I want to offer from this day forward. This business is hard at times. Its either feast or famine and trying to make all clients happy and myself can be super hard. I pour so much of my soul into my work and there are many days I feel like I am lost. Why-cause I have lost myself in trying to do what others want and trying to compete. So then I don't create what I want to be truly creating. When my mom passed away (will be 3 years next month) I really lost myself. I let my bad thoughts and feelings take over my life for way to long. That first year I just pushed and pushed and kept myself busy. Then all the crazy things happened in the world and I crashed in my mind and heart. And got super lost! So I have decided to make some big changes in my life and my business. I am getting much better-healing is hard. I have some good days and bad days. I have finally decided to start doing what I want to do and create what I want to create. Yes of course my clients thoughts, needs and wants will be included in that. As much as I Love having a studio space, that space is eating up my health and profit. I stress so much trying to make enough to pay and keep that and bring some money home. Honestly it sucks the life and creativity out of me. They always say go with the decision that scares you the most so that you can grow. I feel it is time for me to grow and change to become a better me and a better photographer. So I have been thinking long and hard on this. I know I may lose some clients over this but I guess if you Love my work/art it won't matter. :) I think it is time to let the studio space go! Go back to photographing my amazing clients in their homes, my home and or on location! I truly feel this is the best thing I can do for this business and my health! So I really hope that all my amazing present, past and future clients will stick around! Truly if it weren't for all of you I wouldn't have a business. It means the World to me, that I get to be part of your moments and help capture those special moments in your life! I hope that sharing my feelings and thoughts on mental health doesn't lose me business. I want to be real with you--not fake! I am looking forward to this year and the changes that are coming! I hope to see you all through these changes. I promise this is a good thing. With that being said I have a ton of items that I will be getting rid of at the studio that need to be sold! I will have a ton of newborn backdrops, wraps and props that will be to be gone! I am going to be going a little different when it comes to my newborn sessions. They are one of my favorite types of sessions but I feel I need to change the way I do them! I am so excited about this change! I think you will be too! Hope to see you come along with me in the new year! *I am not sure when the date will be when I move out of my space yet. It will be in the next few weeks or month or so! I need time to sell a bunch of stuff and make the changes! I just wanted to get this out there for now that changes are coming! :) |
